My main artwork these days is metal sculpture.

Most of my big sculptures are painted with a clear coat of Penetrol( 2 coats if outside) and this protects them and stops the rust. It might need redoing every few years and it is better to brush it on than spray. Any colour is an oil based paint suitable for metal and I use a range of different products.
