I made a piece a while ago called the expulsion machine and it had wheels, a trumpet form and complex bits.. I didn’t explore the idea very much and I was looking through some of my older ideas and decided I could do a bit more with that form. I did another piece called the birdsong machine  and this is the next in the series. I am delighted I could use an  two old sewing machines as part of its “engine” and the birds are all drawn to the musicality of the beast. Mind you perhaps like dog whistles, it is creating a sound which is inaudible to us..Just a fine piece of fun..
