I was trying to sort and organize my timber collection. I brought in a series of Robinia branches to simplify( they bend in all sorts of different directions) and I was taken with the beauty of the end grain patterns and the roughness of what was left of the outer layer. I thought to do just a series of 9 but then I misplaced a piece at the painting stage and thought that it would make a nicer composition to have a central turned piece of a different timber to provide a contrast. This is it and I do like the simplicity and variation in it. Quite abstract I guess but pleasing.
