I did a blue poles piece when we first started the sculpture garden. It was actually a ¼ of the size of the original but made from scrap and Helen Timburys old swing set. It was so big that when it blew over I couldn’t lift it by myself. Over the years it got more battered and finally it was a bit of an embarrassment. I cut it up into two pieces and made each piece into some homage to blue poles but in a much different format. This was the first one and it still is a heavy bugger but at least it is movable now.
