I was trying to decrease my offcut pile. I do this quite regularly but I always seem to have more. I did like the idea of a spiral form within a circle so that is what I started on using two different scales of offcuts. In the mounting of the piece I wanted a bit more dynamism to match the spiral design and angling it so it was presented differently suggested that it could be climbed or that it was the scale of some dragon creature from the dim distant past.
