I was tidying up my pile and these pieces called to be assembled. I had the piece in the middle from cutting out a variety of bird shapes and the negative form really appealed. I was going to use it on a mirrored disc but it did not fit and the forms were not clear enough. I had not made any bird forms or big pieces since my illness, so to make two lively shapes was very life affirming. All the other pieces just sort of surrounded them happily and once the negative form rusts this will be quite an interesting piece. Birds always seem to suggest freedom and lightness and they are quite a common feature of my work.
