I gather a lot of different materials in my shed and the beaters were from an op shop that had several sets for sale. I had made a piece looking like a wild bush or grass area but it had no real focus and the addition of the beaters gave a second storey and a tree like form. I had also forgotten about this phrase being used for people not getting to the point but more remembered it from an old Jo Jo Zep song called beating around the bush, perhaps covered by ac/dc. The title did seem appropriate!
