I used to do a lot with mallee roots. There was a supplier near to Marian’s folks house and I would go there from time to time to capture some prized pieces to do woodcraft from. I don’t have a lot left and this piece has been sitting around for quite a bit when I got the idea to use it this way. It shows off the grain and structure neatly and it also uses the vase form which I have made use of in the past. Finally off my bench!
