I used to have one of these commonwealth bank moneyboxes when I was a kid. As I was making use of a biggish box of assorted screws nails and bolts I started to think of creative ways to use them and I did flowers and teapots and eventually a grid structure. This one is very dense and I wondered what to do with it. A vase form suggested itself and as it is almost the same proportions as the old commonwealth money box it suggested a bank too. Hence seed bank. Sort of obvious but it might remind some people of a different time when banks were keen to help you save!
