I had the second half of a large hand made metal bar that was to go behind a tractor. I had used the first half in making a base for a sunflower form and this piece suggested layers and some sort of climb.

I made a ball form using offcuts of gal steel and this worked out quite well but it sort of needed a ring as part of the ball form It developed into a flower form with petals. I decided to add ladders to the whole construction and of course someone had to climb the ladders. It suggested to me that these were mechanics who kept the whole mechanism of the flower working and that they could have a well deserved break just enjoying the view. A touch whimsical but a pleasing piece for all the different elements.
