I have quite a selection of interesting oddities in the pile and sometimes they just have a certain symmetry with each other. These pieces came together and made this combination. Each required a bit of adjustment,the old gate frame, the wonderful pulley wheel( how could I mount it in the centre), the old step which became the table piece, the wonderfully textured wood from the pile and the last gearwheel which needed fitting so it too was central. All together it suggested something from the past and hence the title.
