I used a template to create the butterfly shape with the plasmacutter but then it needed either to fly or to perch. I do like the gentle offering of the hand for the insect to land on and I like making hand forms using my equipment. I don’t think you need to cut off your hand to be a butterfly perch but it looks quite fine in this format.
