I am always on the lookout for ideas that provoke me to create something. We had been watching Alice Roberts tours through the ottoman empire by train and I noticed in a few of the episodes that Alice wore a rather lovely and obviously handmade necklace. I did like the shape and it inspired me to think about how I could use the form as a starting point. I ended up with this rather large circular for with the curl inside it. It still is a long way from the original idea but I do love that inspiration can come from all sorts of things. The show was an interesting series about a part of the world I will never get the chance to visit and it has given me the direction to produce this piece!
