I think I saw an image on Instagram of a mouth open with teeth behind. I had just been cutting out dragonfly wings and I had a good collection of pieces that could be used for teeth and a small piece of tube to add it to. Having made the mouth I finished the face and then wondered what it could be doing. It would be a very tricky money box so I thought a variation on a vase would be appropriate.The original made the face fairly hard to see and I had been seeing a few of shaun Tan’s wonderful creatures so the second one took a different form.
