This piece evolved from a combination of elements. I had the rectangular frame and then made the heart and built the body form around this. I was playing really but I sort of wanted to say that the three things, head ,hands and heart are all connected…. Certainly the things I make with my hands are products of my head and heart and really the hands express so much that our heart and head create. The girls body language suggests the interaction of these elements and it is interesting how thoughtful and emotional the piece is mainly from the expression of the hands.
