As a kid ,the hills hoist was a wonderful device to hang from and swing on. In one of my very early exhibitions I made such a scene but this time the handle of a hills hoist appeared in my pile of recycling material. I wanted to use it and the characters swinging on it suggests quite effectively the same scene� at least I think so. I think one of the delights of childhood is that we made our own fun with whatever came to hand and the clothesline was a readymade playground� as long as mum didn�t catch us!
