I had made ascending earlier in the year and someone wanted to buy it. I did like the combination of corten steel and galvanised steel so I thought what else could use that effectively. A magpie was the solution and although he is standing rather than flying I think the mix of offcuts specially cut pieces and offcuts from the dragonflies works quite well. I am not fussed by football connections and I do admire any of the bigger birds for their intelligence and purpose.
