I often start from inspiration from odd pieces in my pile. Someone had left the moon shaped piece near my gallery and it started a set of ideas that culminated in this piece. I had the circles made for a couple of other ideas and I was experimenting with different Pedestal forms. The I beam came from a demolished large veranda at the back of the house and I was thinking how to start using it. Moon river was a song made famous by the movie “Breakfast and Tiffanys” and was written in 1961 by Johnny Mercer. I must admit I do try to sing it from time to time
