I have never been a mother…. But I do see the closeness some mothers have with a daughter. Certainly fathers have a close relationship too at times but mothers are more aware of what daughters are going to go through and have a certain empathy which is special. I did a big version of this piece and then this smaller version. They each have their qualities and each is trying to suggest a certain protectiveness.
