I did a series of pieces for Art Melbourne and this was one. I have done a few pieces involving flowers and I thought a giant leaf would be appropriate. A lot of my work has a theme associated with the natural world and many pieces are quite ambiguous as to what is being said. Is the leaf here dead? Is it a symbol of renewal? Is my girl angry or proud? That part is for you to decide but I like the combination of forms and like most art the message is determined by the viewer..
