I had to cut down a sculpture stand and found I had some largish pieces of square tube left over. I wondered whether they could be cut up into bird forms the same as some of the round tube and kookaburras have a sort of squarish form. I did a set of three and put them on a pole and some one bought it immediately it was finished. I had one small piece left so I made this bird on a log. The wood has a lovely fiddle back in it and it is a piece of mountain ash or other gum tree.
