I had made the sunflower head from a car part that one of my other friends had split in half and a collection of offcuts from a fence. It sat quietly in the shed looking unfinished and it wasn’t until I cut up a linkage bar that went behind a tractor, that I had a structure to complete it. The linkage bar I have had for years but it was so heavy I could not easily move it. Combining the pieces made a quite interesting structure and it has elements of heavy industry and also nature. Sort of appropriate I guess.
