When I went to college one of the first art movements studied was Egyptian art. I loved the fact that they had a nature based religion and pictured the sun being carried through the heavens on a boat ( by the god Ra). I had the idea for a form like this from looking at a piece in a Vietnamese sculpture exhibition. Their form was smooth and very balanced but I could see my version with recycled material( sort of reflecting how we recycle myths) and this piece developed over a week or so.
